Patricio Velásquez was born in Puerto Montt in 1995. He began his musical studies at the age of 7 at the Escuela de Cultura Difusión y Artística de Puerto Montt with Prof. David Ojeda and also began to participate in various youth and children's orchestras in the Los Lagos region. Later in 2008, he entered the Institute of the Catholic University of Chile to formally study violin under the guidance of Prof. Rubén Sierra. Throughout his studies in Santiago he participated in several orchestras such as the Chamber Orchestra of the Municipal Theatre of Santiago, the National Youth Symphony Orchestra, and the Chamber Orchestra of the Catholic University. Additionally Patricio has been part of international music festivals such as Musica Mundi in Belgium, Orchester Akademie Schleswig Holstein Musik Festival in Germany, Orchestra of the Americas tour to the southern cone Chile-Argentina-Brazil, International Kammermusik Akademie Nitzow in Germany. He has had the privilege of having played in masterclasses with professors such as Maxim Vengerov, Eberhard Feltz, Mayumi Seiler, Kurt Nikannen, Marc Danel, Leonid Kerbel, etc. In the year 2022 he won the first prize, the public prize and the prize for the best Chilean performance in the International Music Competition Dr. Luis Sigall mention violin in Viña del Mar. He was selected to be an academician at the Ferenc Fricsay Academy of the Deutsches Symphonie Orchester Berlin for the years 2021-2023, where he had the opportunity to work with the orchestra and have lessons with members of the orchestra. Patricio is currently studying his Master of Music degree at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin under the tutelage of Prof. Ulf Wallin and at the same time he is participating as a guest student of chamber music at the Hochschule für Musik, und Darstelle Kunst Frankfurt with Viatores Quartet to work with Prof. Tabea Zimmerman. Since 2024, he has been a permanent member of the Norddeutshe Radiophilarmonie Hannover in Germany.
