Christofer Schencke Mera

Viola

Cristofer Schencke was born in Valdivia and began his viola studies at the Juan Sebastián Bach School in that city. In 2010 he began his professional training at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. Since then, he has been improving his skills in parallel with teachers from all over the world, such as Joaquin Riquelme (Berlin Philharmonic), Sergio Prieto (Chamber Orchestra Teatro Municipal de Santiago), Sergej Bolkhovets (Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra), among others, finishing his Master of Music in Viola and Chamber Music at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln, in Cologne-Germany with Maestro Matthias Buchholz. She has participated in various festivals and has performed in important halls in Latin America and Europe.

From an early age he has performed as a musician in important orchestras such as the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional Juvenil, with whom he made the first tour to Europe in its history, Orquesta de Cámara del Teatro Municipal de Santiago, Orquesta Camerata de la Universidad Andrés Bello, Junge Ensamble Berlin, JPON Orchester, Berliner Opperngruppe, and since 2017 he holds the position of Assistant Solo Viola in the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Chile.
